Curb stones, commonly referred to as “road curbs,” are also known as roadside curbs or road edge stones. They are foundational building materials laid continuously along the edges of roads, sidewalks, green belts, and plazas. They serve not only as clear physical boundaries separating vehicular lanes, sidewalks, and green spaces, but also fulfill multiple functions, including protecting the structural integrity of road edges, guiding the drainage of surface water, enhancing traffic safety, and beautifying the landscape. As such, they are an indispensable component in municipal infrastructure and landscape engineering projects. They are widely used in various engineering projects, including municipal roads, landscape architecture, real estate developments, and transportation infrastructure.

Standard Separation Curbstones:

With spatial demarcation and pavement protection as their core functions, these are the most widely used and highest-volume basic curbstones in engineering projects. Most come in standard vertical or flat designs, offering high cost-effectiveness and ease of installation. Once installed, they clearly demarcate different areas such as vehicle lanes, sidewalks, and green belts, effectively preventing vehicles from straying into adjacent zones while protecting the road edge structure from damage caused by vehicle traffic. They are widely applicable to various conventional road scenarios, including primary and secondary urban thoroughfares and internal roads within development complexes.

Curved Curbstones:

These can be manufactured in various radii according to project requirements, forming smooth curves with tight joints when assembled. They retain full protective and separating functions while creating a rounded, aesthetically pleasing boundary effect, and can flexibly adapt to a variety of curvature specifications. They are commonly used for traffic circles, circular tree pits, landscape flower beds, road curves, and curved boundaries in plazas.

Side-Entry Drainage Curb (Perforated Drainage Curb):

Side-entry drainage curbs are functional products that integrate curb separation and pavement drainage. Vertical, elongated drainage slots are evenly spaced along the side facing the roadway. Rainwater flowing toward the edge along the road’s cross-slope can be directly discharged through these slots into the drainage channel or green belt behind the curb. This system can either connect to the municipal stormwater network for centralized discharge or direct rainwater into the green belt for ecological infiltration. It features continuous drainage over a wide area, high water flow efficiency, and vertical openings that are resistant to clogging. As a key supporting product for sponge city construction, it is widely used in urban roads, large plazas, parking lots, ecological walkways, and roadways adjacent to green belts.

Sloped Curb (Curved Accessible Curb):

The sloped curb is designed to address height differences between roadways, sidewalks, and adjacent areas. Its traffic-facing side features a curved slope that provides a smooth transition from the ground level to the roadway elevation, eliminating sharp edges and abrupt steps. It offers high load-bearing capacity, withstanding repeated traffic from passenger cars and light vehicles, and is resistant to cracking even with long-term use. They ensure vehicles can drive over them smoothly at low speeds, preventing undercarriage scrapes and tire jams, while also meeting accessibility requirements—allowing wheelchairs, strollers, and handcarts to pass through—all while retaining the curbstone’s boundary function. They are commonly used in high-traffic transition areas such as in front of street-side shops, parking lot entrances and exits, and accessible crossings on sidewalks.
